Then I pulled you in closer and kissed your forehead, then your cheeks, then I took a deep breath of your sweet baby smell. I held your little hand, and kissed you again.
When you woke, I was there. Your eyes fluttered open and latched onto mine. You smiled, I smiled. The cool breeze blew through our open window. But you were warm in my arms. I could smell the seasons changing. What a reminder of passing time. It made me think of our time together. How much you’ve grown, and how much you will grow.
