On Saturday we had a family day at the Cleveland Metropark Zoo and, of course, I documented the whole thing. My sister Grace and her best friend “Cici” had promised Matthew over two years ago that they would take him to the Zoo. He never forgot that promise and brought it up every time he saw them. They joined us and cashed in on their promise. He was so excited. This was also the first time the girls had ever been to a zoo. Ever. In their entire lives. That is one fun thing about internationally adopting an older child. You get to experience a lot of “firsts” with them when they are old enough to appreciate it. Matthew was about one when we took him to the for A Day at the Cleveland Metropark Zoo for the first time. He was only kind of interested. It was also fun to hear Matthew tell them all he knew about the animals.
A big thank you goes out to Grace who helped me take a few photos and videos so that I could actually be in a few. My favorite is the one where Matt and I have all the kids on our shoulders in front of the Zebra exhibit.
